John 17:3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
To know God in the sense of being acquainted with him - loving him -abiding in fellowship with him - this is life eternal. To know God in Christ Jesus is to be saved indeed.
