The Warning Signs of the End Times

Understanding the warnings Jesus gave about the days leading to His return

While on the Mount of Olives with his disciples, Jesus answered these 3 questions, as well as explained what believers should be prepared for in the last days.

Jesus described a series of developments that would mark the period ahead. His warnings included deception, conflict, disasters, persecution and the worldwide proclamation of the Gospel. Jesus cautioned His followers not to be alarmed by every crisis, but to remain watchful, faithful and discerning as events unfolded.

The 3 Questions, The 3 Answers

So, before looking at Jesus' response, instructions, the message of hope for believers and the eternal destiny of the unbelievers, let us first look at and evaluate the happenings all around the world that are indications of the truth in his words.

When shall these things be?

This was the very first question to Jesus, but He did not answer this at the outset. Instead, He said "let no man deceive you". This obviously indicates that He knew that the timing of his Second Coming ("when") would lead to deception, false date setting, and speculation rife with controversial and misleading interpretations and messages from pulpits.

what shall be the sign of thy coming?

The second question is about the sign of Jesus' 2nd coming to earth to establish His Kingdom, which also includes the end of the world as we know it.

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Matthew 24:13 KJV

False Prophets

Spiritual authority must be tested, not blindly trusted.
