What We Believe: Our Foundation of Faith

God's Word. Christ's Gospel. Truth for the Last Days.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:9 KJV

Introduction

Days of Noah is founded upon the Holy Scriptures and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that God's Word provides the authoritative foundation for understanding our Creator, the origin and purpose of humanity, the reality of sin, the way of salvation, and God's purposes for the future.

Our aim is to encourage people to study the Bible carefully, examine teachings and claims in the light of Scripture, investigate relevant historical evidence, and remain watchful and discerning in the days in which we live.

The following statements summarise the biblical convictions that guide our ministry, our research, and the free Bible study resources we make available. We encourage every reader to examine the cited passages in context and to compare Scripture with Scripture.

The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, God-breathed Word of God. The Holy Spirit guided the human authors of Scripture so that what they wrote communicated God's intended message. We believe that Scripture is infallible and authoritative, and that the original writings were without error.

The Bible is the final authority for Christian faith, doctrine and practice. Scripture must be interpreted in its proper historical, grammatical and literary context, with Scripture itself serving as the final guide to interpretation. Human traditions, personal experiences, scientific theories, religious institutions and claims of new revelation must be tested against God's written Word and cannot supersede it.

The King James Version (KJV) is the principal English reference translation used by Days of Noah, while other translations and original-language resources may be consulted for comparison and study.

The Triune God

We believe in one eternal, self-existent, infinite, holy, sovereign and unchanging God, the Creator, Sustainer and Ruler of all things. God has revealed Himself in three distinct Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are each fully God, equal in divine glory and coeternal, yet there is one God, not three gods.

God is righteous, just, merciful, gracious and loving, and His wisdom and power are without limit. He has revealed Himself through His creation and, authoritatively for our faith, through His written Word. Scripture consistently speaks of God using masculine titles and pronouns, including Father, Son, King and Lord.

We receive God's self-revelation as given in Scripture rather than redefining Him according to changing human ideas.

Creation and the Origins of Life

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and everything in them by His sovereign power and according to His purpose. We understand Genesis 1-11 as a factual account of actual events that provides the foundational biblical framework for the origin and early history of the universe, the earth, life and humanity.

We affirm six consecutive, ordinary 24-hour days of Creation, followed by the seventh day of rest. We believe that the original created kinds of living things were brought into existence through God's direct creative acts, rather than through universal common descent over millions of years. We recognise that variation can occur within created kinds, but reject the view that all living things originated through an unguided evolutionary process from common ancestors.

We understand the genealogies and chronological framework of Scripture to indicate approximately 4'000 years from Creation to the first coming of Christ, while recognising that chronological calculations depend on how the biblical data are interpreted.

We therefore do not accept interpretations of Genesis that require evolutionary creation, a day-age framework, progressive creation or other attempts to reconcile the Creation account with millions of years of evolutionary history. We acknowledge that scientific observations and chronological reconstructions require interpretation, and we assess them in the light of our understanding of Scripture.

We also affirm that the proclamation of the Gospel remains central to our mission: debates about origins must never displace the saving message of Jesus Christ.

Adam, Eve and the Fall of Humanity

We believe that Adam and Eve were the first human beings, specially and directly created by God, with Adam formed from the dust of the ground and Eve formed from Adam. They were created in God's image and were accountable to Him. Through their disobedience, sin entered the world, bringing condemnation, death and the corruption of human life.

All people are descendants of the first human family and share the dignity of bearing God's image, while also sharing humanity's fallen condition. The historical reality of Adam and the Fall is foundational to understanding why all people need redemption through Jesus Christ.

We do not regard humanity's origin as the result of descent from non-human ancestors.

Noah's Flood and Early Biblical History

We believe that the Flood described in Genesis was a real, worldwide and catastrophic event in human history, not merely a local or regional inundation. We understand the biblical account to describe waters covering the earth's high mountains and destroying the land-dwelling life outside the Ark, apart from those preserved by God.

We regard the Flood as a major event in the early history of the earth and consider its implications when examining geological formations, fossils and ancient history. We believe that Noah, his family and the animals preserved in the Ark were part of God's judgement upon a profoundly corrupt world and His provision for the continuation of life.

Jesus Christ and the apostles refer to Noah and the Flood as historical realities, and we take these references seriously in interpreting Genesis.

Bible references: Genesis 6:5-8 | Genesis 6:13-22 | Genesis 7:17-24 | Genesis 8:15-22 | Matthew 24:37-39 | Hebrews 11:7 | 2 Peter 3:5-7

Humanity, Human Dignity and the Sanctity of Life

We believe that God created human beings in His image as male and female, giving every person inherent dignity and value. All humanity belongs to one human family, descended from Adam and Eve, and no person has greater intrinsic worth because of age, ethnicity, skin colour, intelligence, ability, social standing or any other human distinction.

Every human life, including unborn life, deserves serious protection and respect. We understand human life to begin at fertilisation and believe that unborn children are human lives made in God's image. We therefore oppose abortion and the intentional ending of human life through euthanasia or assisted suicide.

We believe that parents have a God-given responsibility to raise and instruct their children in the knowledge of the Lord, providing consistent examples of Christian faith and conduct.

These convictions must be lived out with compassion, humility and respect for the dignity of every person.

Bible references: Genesis 1:26-28 | Genesis 9:6 | Genesis 10:32 | Exodus 20:13 | Psalm 139:13-16 | Acts 17:26-28 | Deuteronomy 6:6-9 | Ephesians 6:4

Marriage, Sexuality and Gender

We believe that God created humanity male and female and established marriage in Creation as the covenant union of one man and one woman. We understand Scripture to teach that sexual intimacy belongs within marriage and that sexual conduct outside this covenant falls outside God's design.

We believe that biological sex is grounded in God's creation of humanity as male and female, and that human identity and conduct should be understood in the light of this created order and the teaching of Scripture. We therefore do not affirm sexual practices or understandings of gender that we believe contradict biblical teaching. At the same time, every person must be treated with dignity, kindness, honesty and compassion.

We reject hatred, bullying, humiliation, exploitation and abuse. The Gospel calls every person, regardless of background or personal struggle, to repentance, forgiveness, new life and the transforming grace of Jesus Christ.

No person is beyond the reach of God's mercy.

Bible references: Genesis 1:27-28 | Genesis 2:18-24 | Matthew 19:4-6 | 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 | 1 Thessalonians 4:3-7 | Hebrews 13:4 | Galatians 3:26-28

Sin, Death and Humanity's Need for Salvation

We believe that all people are sinners, both through humanity's fallen condition inherited from Adam and through their own thoughts, words and actions. Sin separates humanity from God and brings guilt, condemnation and death. We believe that animal death, disease, suffering and natural evils entered the world as a consequence of sin.

The suffering and disorder of the present world must be understood within the biblical account of Creation, the Fall and God's redemptive purposes. No human being can overcome sin or restore fellowship with God through personal merit, moral achievement, religious observance or human philosophy. All people stand in need of God's mercy and the redemption He has provided through Jesus Christ.

Because every person is both made in God's image and affected by sin, the Gospel must be offered to all without favouritism or discrimination.

Bible references: Genesis 3:16-19 | Romans 3:10-23 | Romans 5:12 | Romans 6:23 | Romans 8:20-22 | Ephesians 2:1-5

Jesus Christ, the Son of God

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal, uncreated Son of God, fully divine and fully human. He took on human flesh without ceasing to be God, was conceived by the Holy Ghost, and was born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life and perfectly revealed the character and truth of God.

Jesus willingly gave Himself as the substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, bearing the judgement that sin deserves. He died on the cross, shed His blood for our redemption, was buried and rose bodily from the dead on the third day. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father, where He intercedes for His people.

He is the only mediator between God and humanity, the promised Messiah, our Saviour and Lord, and the coming Judge and King.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead, fully divine and personal. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, brings sinners to repentance and faith through the Gospel, regenerates those who believe, and indwells and seals believers as God's own.

He illuminates the minds of believers as they study Scripture, empowers them for Christian witness and service, and produces the fruit of righteousness in their lives. The Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus Christ and does not contradict the Word He inspired. We believe that spiritual gifts are distributed according to God's sovereign will.

We recognise that Christians differ regarding the continuation and function of miraculous gifts, and our position is that the foundational sign gifts associated with the early establishment of the Church do not operate in precisely the same manner today.

No claimed spiritual manifestation, prophecy or revelation should be accepted without biblical discernment.

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe that salvation is God's gift of grace, received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It is made possible by Christ's finished work on the cross and His bodily resurrection, not by human merit, good works, religious rituals or membership in a particular church.

Through repentance and faith, sinners receive forgiveness, justification and new life in Christ. Jesus paid the price for our redemption; no additional human payment can purchase salvation. Good works and a transformed life are the fruit of genuine faith, not the price or means by which salvation is earned.

We believe that those who have truly received Christ are kept by God's power and are eternally secure in Him. This assurance rests on the faithfulness and sufficiency of Christ, not on human perfection.

We encourage believers to live in holiness and obedience as a grateful response to God's saving grace.

Angels, Satan and Demons

We believe that God created angels as spiritual beings who serve Him and carry out His purposes. We believe in the personal existence of Satan and demons as spiritual adversaries of God and humanity. Satan opposes God's purposes, promotes deception and seeks to lead people away from the truth.

The reality of spiritual evil must not lead believers into superstition or an unhealthy fascination with darkness; rather, Christians are called to stand firm in the truth of God's Word and the victory of Jesus Christ. Satan and his powers are not equal to God and remain subject to His sovereign authority.

Scripture teaches that Satan and his followers will ultimately face God's final judgement and eternal punishment.

The Church and Its Mission

We believe that the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who belong to Him through saving faith, with Jesus Christ as its Head. Christians are called to gather in local, Bible-believing churches for worship, prayer, teaching, fellowship, the Lord's Supper, mutual encouragement and service.

We affirm believer's water baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith and identification with Christ, and the Lord's Supper as a remembrance of His death until He comes. Church leaders are called to serve faithfully, teach sound doctrine and care for the flock without domination, exploitation or coercion.

Every believer shares the responsibility to bear witness to Christ through word and life. The Church's mission includes making disciples, teaching obedience to Christ and proclaiming the Gospel to all nations.

No human leader or institution stands above the authority of Scripture.

Discernment, False Teaching and the Authority of Truth

We believe that Christians must test teachings, spiritual claims, religious movements and ideologies against Scripture. No tradition, institution, political movement, scientific theory, popular opinion or claimed revelation should be accepted as infallible.

We reject the idea that truth can be divided into separate religious and secular spheres in which God's Word has no bearing on ordinary life, morality, knowledge or public affairs. We believe that contemporary ideologies, including forms of social justice activism, intersectionality and critical race theory, must be examined critically wherever their assumptions or conclusions conflict with biblical teaching about human dignity, sin, justice, reconciliation and personal responsibility.

We do not accept an ideology merely because it is popular, nor dismiss evidence merely because it challenges a preferred interpretation. We seek to distinguish facts from assumptions, assess sources fairly and apply Scripture consistently. We reject spiritual abuse, manipulation, coercion and the exploitation of people in the name of God.

Truth must be upheld with courage, humility and love.

Bible references: Proverbs 14:12 | Isaiah 8:20 | Acts 17:11 | Romans 12:2 | 1 Corinthians 10:31 | Colossians 2:8 | 1 Thessalonians 5:21 | 1 John 4:1

Israel, the Nations and God's Purposes

We believe that God has acted in history through His covenants and promises, including His dealings with Israel. We believe that these promises must be interpreted carefully according to their biblical context, and that the Church should not automatically be identified with every promise made to Israel.

We take seriously the biblical teaching that God has not forgotten His covenant purposes, while recognising that Christians differ in how they understand certain prophetic details. Salvation is through Jesus Christ, and the Gospel is offered to both Jew and Gentile.

All people share the dignity of bearing God's image and the need for redemption. We reject antisemitism, racial hatred and hostility towards any people group. Contemporary political developments and interfaith initiatives should be examined carefully against Scripture and verifiable evidence, without assuming that every event is a definite fulfilment of prophecy.

Bible references: Genesis 12:1-3 | Isaiah 46:9-10 | Romans 1:16 | Romans 11:1-2 | Romans 11:25-29 | Galatians 3:26-29

Biblical Prophecy, the Rapture and the Return of Christ

We believe that biblical prophecy reveals God's sovereign purposes and that Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return as He promised. We affirm the blessed hope of the Rapture of the Church and understand the prophetic framework presented by Days of Noah to teach a pre-tribulation Rapture.

We believe that Christ will return to judge the living and the dead and that His kingdom will be consummated according to God's plan. We affirm a future millennial reign of Christ, as described in Revelation 20. We recognise that sincere Christians differ in their interpretations of prophetic chronology, but we seek to understand these passages according to their context and relationship to the rest of Scripture.

The study of prophecy should produce watchfulness, faithfulness, endurance and hope, not fear, sensationalism or the setting of dates for Christ's return.

We examine contemporary events with care and do not claim certainty where Scripture or the evidence does not warrant it.

Bible references: Matthew 24:4-14 | Matthew 24:30-31 | Acts 1:9-11 | 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 | 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 | 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12 | Titus 2:11-13 | Revelation 19:11-16 | Revelation 20:1-6

Resurrection, Final Judgement and Eternal Destiny

We believe that the dead will be raised and that every person will ultimately stand before God in judgement. Those who belong to Christ have the promise of eternal life with Him, while those who reject God's salvation face judgement and everlasting punishment.

We believe that believers who die are present with the Lord while awaiting the resurrection and glorification of the body. We affirm the reality of heaven, the final judgement, the lake of fire and the eternal defeat of Satan and evil.

We believe that God's final purposes include the establishment of a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. These truths remind us of the seriousness of sin, the urgency of the Gospel and the hope secured through Jesus Christ.

Our Commitment

These statements express the convictions that guide Days of Noah and the resources we provide. We encourage all visitors to examine the Scriptures, investigate our references, test what they hear and seek to understand God's Word in context.

We recognise that not every Christian interprets every passage in exactly the same way. Where a particular prophetic or doctrinal interpretation is presented, we seek to distinguish our stated position from the biblical text itself and to provide the relevant references for readers to examine.

Our purpose is not to demand unquestioning agreement, but to encourage a deeper understanding of Scripture, discernment in the face of deception, and faith in Jesus Christ.

God's Word is our standard. Jesus Christ is our hope. The Gospel is freely offered.
